Jen & Andy asked me to photograph their December wedding in Grantham. So many more people are choosing winter weddings and this lovely couple were so lucky with the incredible weather and beautiful light. It was a gorgeous crisp day which completely complimented the Hollwood Glamour theme Jen had chosen for the day. She looked absolutely stunning and Stoke Rochfard Hall was the perfect backdrop. The ceremony was held in the orangery so the photos were bright and beautiful.
Stoke Rochford Hall is a very grand, beautiful venue, it was a treat to photograph somewhere so dramatic. If the weather had been awful there were plenty of places inside for group or couple photographs. You have to be prepared for the weather, there’s no point in letting it ruin the day, it helps me to be more creative and take unusual photos. So if you’ve booked your winter wedding, get your wellies and umberellas ready, have a sparkler arch instead of confetti when it gets dark at 5pm. Embrace the fact that your wedding is different and the photos will be incredible.
Jen and Andy didn’t have a wedding cake which was a first for me. Instead they had a champagne pour instead of cutting the cake which was amazing. I’m not sure how the glasses managed to stay upright, that was pretty impressive. Andy was dreading having his photo taken so I suggested they have a pre-wedding shoot. We meet at the venue so I could explore the best photo opportunities and had a practise so Andy would feel more comfortable on the day. The photos are so much better than if he’d felt awkward in front of the camera.

Amy photographed our wedding on 22nd December 2017 and we were blown away with the photos! Everyone we show absolutely loves them and we couldn’t be happier. Amy really makes you feel at ease, especially when (like my now husband) you hate having your photo taken! She took lots of lovely formal pictures as well as tons of natural photos, really capturing the atmosphere of the day (and night!) She even bought sparklers with her to try different effects in the evening.
We also loved the presentation of the memory stick with the photos, a very lovely package to receive on our one month anniversary! Would definitely recommend. Thanks Amy x
